02 · The Setting

Casa Maya Ka’an: a private oceanfront property near Tulum.

The week unfolded inside the Sian Ka’an Biosphere Reserve, beside sea, sky and a quiet natural rhythm.

Tucked inside the protected Sian Ka’an Biosphere, Casa Maya Ka’an rests between jungle and Caribbean shoreline. Rooted in Mayan craft and organic textures, lime-washed walls, driftwood, woven fibres and hand-carved details, the villa honours the land while creating a tranquil, elevated atmosphere. Spread across private beachfront jungle, it opens to the Caribbean, the lagoon and the quiet of the palms.

A rooftop plunge with sea and lagoon horizons, shaded hammocks, daybeds on the sand and panoramic terraces invited barefoot living and days unhurried by time. Meals came from the in-house culinary team, contemporary wellness cuisine with authentic Mexican flavours, sourced from local farms and native producers, and dinners unfolded at long candlelit tables under the night sky. It is the property where Lauren first understood what Casa should feel like, and Casa has returned to it more than once.

Where Casa is going next

This week is complete. The next ones are taking shape.
